Michael Cichon (also known as the Teaman) graduated from Dawson’s Commercial Photography program with Honors, specializing in portraiture.

Artist Statement:

Born in 1966, Montreal, Quebec, Canada , Michael Cichon finds His inspiration from a combination of critical thinking, comedy and a tourist consciousness that is both “apart” and “a part” of the world. Born of parents who worked for an airline, he was blessed with travel, and experiences abroad. For Mr. Cichon street photography is a deep meditative dialogue with himself.  His environmental portrait work is a blend of editorial reportage and social commentary, sometimes with teaspoon of satire. Given the chance he loves to explore stories and characters that give birth to ideas; often unleashed in self portraits. Extensions of Mr. Cichon’s work is expressed in his Landscape Photography.

As a result of living in Pusan, South Korea Mr Cichon started a small Tea Room in Vancouver’s Chinatown. To this date he still imports tea and pottery. www.livelikewater.com

Currently, Mr. Cichon works as a full time Medical Photographer, documenting patients who require non cosmetic plastic surgery.
